“How powerful do you think you are?”
When I ask my clients this question, they usually respond by saying: “I’m not actually sure.”
This is a very telling answer because it means that they are not meeting their full potential because to do that, they need to be able to answer this question affirmatively. If this is you, where you cannot answer this question with confidence, then read on . . .
I call myself a confidence coach for a reason, because unlike other coaches who title themselves as their expertise, I title myself as the outcome that I will guide you to when you work with me.
If I was to make it about myself, my title would be: mindset, branding, media, communications, marketing, and leadership coach, phew! Because these are my areas of expertise.
This doesn’t resonate with me at all, because my focus isn’t on me anymore the way it used to be (I’ve spent 30 years in the entrepreneurial space with 20 of them in media and events, so I’ve gotten my fill of stroking my ego, lol). It’s on the outcome that I can guide you to (your success is what my motivation is tied to), and I do this by incorporating 3 specific steps (in this order):
- Sharing applicable knowledge (to meet you where you are and take you to where you want to go),
- Setting specific action steps (because everyone learns in different ways),
- Providing accountability support (so that you are steered to stay on track and are able to confidently step into your unique power).

Now these past 2 weeks, I’ve been talking about the 4 phases that I have distilled down from my 20 years of working with legacy and celebrity brands, where I have garnered intimate knowledge and experience on how they build, sustain, and grow their brands to last. These 4 phases are centred around my specific areas of expertise (stated earlier), which I intentionally group into 4 tranches: Mindset, Branding, Authority (Part 1 & 2), and Leadership.
Last week, I shared some info about my mindset course and the week before that, I talked about my branding course. This week (to stay on this week’s theme of media & communications), I’m going to share a bit about the “Master Your Authority – Part 1: Marketing & Networking)” course, which is a 4-week interactive, immersive experience about mastering your media and communications skills and strategies, so that you can show up authentically, naturally, and powerfully in interviews, presentations, on stages, and on social media.
And if you think that you’re fine just winging it, know that every single world-class brand (be they a celebrity/thought leader/influencer or corporate brand), has a heavily intentional and on purpose media and communications strategy, because nothing is accidental (at least nothing that is authentic, which is the one criteria that’s needed to build audience trust and loyalty).
Learn the techniques that work today, that uber successful personalities and businesses are using, rather than the outdated academic knowledge that colleges and universities are pedalling, with shiny diplomas and degrees for you to hang on your wall. These curriculums change at snail pace, so do not change to meet the demands of the marketplace when needed. That gap is filled by the coaching industry and people like me.
